Wouldn't an Osama capture still work under this scenario?
The general reasoning at this point in the game seems to be that an Osama capture would now look too convenient just before the election and thus it won't happen.

I agree if Osama is just pulled out of no where before the election it will look odd. BUT - what if Osama and pals were, oh say, planning on personally nuking a city two days before the election ("to disrupt the election") and bush managed to save that city AND capture Osama "through his brilliance as president"? THAT might fly a little better.

Anyone remember one of the latest "tapes" in which they ask their followers to continue onward when something happens to them? Sounds like a perfect set up... FAUX can quote it and say "Oh look THAT'S what they meant when they said that!"

Think about a few weeks (and even days) ago all the talk about Osama wanting to disrupt the election.

The segments of the story have already been put down. All it takes is a little creativity and you can see what this could lead too. Matches one of Rove's set ups very well.

1. Unless Bush personally slaps the cuffs on him, no reason to vote for him
The folks who are actually doing the hard work (soldiers, cops, FBI, CIA, etc.) will be here long after Bush is sent back to Crawford to shovel pig shit.

Bush if anything has worsened the terror climate of the world. He needs to get the fuck out.

2. Agree
But the sheeple don't think that way. Ever see the statistics of people who watch five minutes a day of FOX NEWS and consider themselves "informed"?

4. Unfortunately
They can also be called "voters". And Rove knows it.

5. Oh, no doubt!
But all my relatives are in Georgia, so I don't even try to educate them. Well, I am trying to get my mom to vote for Kerry, but that is more of an intellectual exercise than anything.
