This was some years ago.

I believe they court martialed the guy when he returned to America.

Anyone remember this?

(I'm getting old -- my memory ain't what it used to be :D )

1. I remember
He came back to the US after living in Vietnam for years as a POW. He spoke with a Vietnamese accent. He was court martialed for cooperating with the Vietnamese, but I can't remember his name.

2. I think you mean Robert Garwood
He wrote a book, or at least cooperated in a book that was written about him. He was captured about 1 week before he was supposed to be sent home. He learned to speak Vietnamese from a special forces soldier who was imprisoned with him. He was held in North Vietnam until about 10 years after the war. He claims against his will; others say he went willingly (although the peole who say that have no way of knowing).

His book was fascinating.
