Strange ailment afflicting College Repubes
Honestly, why are we in a position to be even worried about a draft?

I was on the ASU campus all day yesterday representing for the Kerry campaign. The young Bushies were in full force with their flip flop and waffle symbols. They were full of bravado, thumping their chests, their loud voices singing the highest praises of their neo-con god. Healthy young bucks and toothsome lasses all. As fine a display of eager youthful flesh as I've ever seen. I asked the same question of every single one I spoke to: "Why haven't you enlisted yet?" I mean, after all, George W. Bush needs fresh troops to continue his valiant and justified campaign to coerce PNAC/Halliburton democracy on those terroristic camel jockeys Over There. I would then inform them of the location of the nearest Army recruiter in Tempe. Usually, I'd get a blank uncomprehending stare. But from one hearty looking muscular chap I got a petulant response about indeterminate 'health problems'. Ahhh..that may explain it. Maybe the other young Republicans I saw there also have mysterious 'health problems'. Perhaps there is an outbreak of an inexplicable illness that renders very healthy looking young men incapable of carrying a rifle, yet somehow capable of holding up a HUGE ASS Bush/Cheney sign and using it to try to knock over Kerry signs for TWO HOURS! I'm very concerned. We may need to alert the CDC about this!:eyes:

fully loaded M-4 or USMC M16A2 rifles only weigh in at around 9lbs or so . . .

And if you're manning a machine gun in the HMMV turret, you don't even have to carry the weight - it's mounted right on the vehicle! LOL!

Edited to add:
Back in my time (USMC 1990-95) we DESPISED the "Armchair Commandos" clamoring to send us off somewhere so they could whoop it up at some frathouse about how "'murika's number one: yeehaw!!" :eyes:

And all those "commandos" seemed to be right-wingers. . . my how things have changed :eyes:

the plural on "forms" is unnecessary -- you'll only need one

I just sent it off to someone and reminded him to pass it around to the rest of his impotent zombie buddies. What a great start to the day!

5. Too bad that you didn't have the repuke Chickenhawk
list handy. That would be excellent to hand out to virile young repuke dudes who may think their AWOL hero is at least surrounded by warriors.

6. I didn't make very many friends when I made the same recommendation
to the freeper idiots heckling my Kerry/Edwards booth. These "people" are no-nothing twits that look at all of this as some kind of a my- team-against-your-team spectator sport of no particular consequence, similar to their own pathetic lives.
My experience with this kind of thing has lead to the conclusion that the "public" is about 50% shit.

15. It's all over the place!
"The North Carolina Democrat contended that Bush was out of touch with important issues including health care and the economy, including jobs lost to other nations.

"I'll tell you what would be good for the economy, would be to outsource George Bush (news - web sites)," he said."

16. BushCo and Congressional Rubes are trying to devise "alternative service"
for draft-age kids of RNC donors. Furiously, they are cobbling together ideas and shopping them to focus groups. Just wait until this Frankenstein comes out of the closet, it'll be a doozy.

17. One of the diseases these sad, young folk have is coprocephalitis.
This often leads to a rectocranial impaction. Such a disability, however, is accommodated by the Republican Infirmative Action programs which ensure that such long-term sufferers are provided a sinecure in government, often in an elected office.

21. Hi ccbombs!
Excuse me if I am repeating myself...I don't see my post on this thread so I just want to be sure to write everything in the event this is the only post that shows up. (Sorry, computer issues)...

Anyway, I'm a newbie to this board, and as a newbie apparently I haven't had enough time here yet to pm someone. As I just attempted to pm you.

I live in California, but would like to assist in organizing some rides for people that need them to get to the polls on Nov. 2. If you are active in the AZ volunteer scene and are interested in helping me to do this, would you please get in touch with me? Here's my e-mail addy--since I'm not sure anyone can pm me yet either--([email protected])

Or just let me know you are already too busy doing the great work you are involved in, and don't have a moment to spare--I'll totally understand! No pressure--this is just something I'd like to do to support the cause of getting others out to the voting booths.

Ok, that's it...thanks so much!

I look forward to hearing from you,
Feistygrrl

19. ccbombs--may I pm you?
I will anyway, I'm just hoping you are still checking this thread.
I'm Feistygrrl, and I only recently joined this board. Your thread kind of jumped out at me, because you mentioned AZ.

I would love to organize something to provide rides for those that may need them to get out and vote on election day. I am in CA, so I would need to talk with someone in AZ that may be active with other volunteers.

If you are interested in talking about this further with me, please contact me!

Thanks!
Feistygrrl:)
