Tonight some pro-Bush nuts were mocking the local Dem Club.
We were watching the debate inside a restaurant on the main street of our small town. I stopped by for maybe fifteen minutes, but the freepers outside were making me nervous. A teenaged girl paraded by with a "Viva Bush" bumper sticker over her boobs. I ended up leaving. My car was in a vulnerable location and I was afraid it would be vandalized because of the pro-Kerry / anti-Bush bumper stickers all over it. I just felt really uncomfortable, even when I was walking to my car through freeper cigarette smoke.

I decided to take in a movie. When I came out, one of my bumper stickers was missing: the "John Kerry for President" one. This puzzles me because all the stickers are magnetically-backed, but the John Kerry sticker was the only one missing. I checked for damage to my car, but there was none. I absolutely refuse to believe it could have fallen off. Absolutely no fucking way!

There are only two plausible explanations in my mind: 1) The person who stole the sticker almost got caught and left the scene, 2) the person who stole the sticker read the warning I'd glued to the backside...

...felt guilty and walked away before he / she could get caught.

Can you think of anything else that makes sense?

I felt strange tonight, like I was being watched.

1. "Viva Bush" Popular with Cubans. Are you in S. Florida?
I lived there until this spring. Don't miss it a bit.

3. No, I'm in California.
I think the "Viva Bush" stickers might have been sent (free?) to * supporters. I saw one sitting on the counter of a "friend" when I was over fixing computers. It literally made my stomach turn. I thought my "friend" was smarter than that. I guess not.

4. You must not be here in the Bay Area.
We don't have a lot of problems with freepers...

My condolences on a slightly messed-up night.

A suggestion RE the bumper stickers - if your reason for using magents is concern for the paint job, how about sticking one in the bottom corner of your rear windshield? It doesn't (in most cases) affect visibility, and can be scraped off easily with a razor blade - and it's harder to steal. That's what I do, anyway...

6. No, I'm in a California red zone.
"The red zone is for voting for idiots and idiots only; there is no thinking in a red zone..." Sorry...just had an Airplane! moment. :)

Yeah, I just felt kind of "weird" tonight. The expenditure for the bumper stickers was a lot of money for me, since I'm on disability. I can pick up a Kerry / Edwards sticker from the Dem HQ, but I don't know if I can get more magnetic backing in time. I'm hoping the anti-Bush stickers will be obsolete soon.

I've had a couple of people tell me to be careful. This county has some seriously fucked-up fanatics in it. So, I'm sort of watching my back and hoping my car isn't targeted for something more than theft of stickers. :|

BTW, I already have stickers in the back window.

7. I saw one of those
in Santa Barbara. I think the guy was Latino. It pissed me off, though, that much I remember.

2. We watched the debate
at the Kerry/Edwards headquarters in Irvine, CA. Freeper types came by waving their shoes and yelling flip flop. But only once.
