Why doesn't Fox News just say "We're the news channel for conservatives"
Or "Fox News: The Conservative News Channel"?

Hell, their own viewers don't buy the F&B schtick and FOX is kicking the ass of every other cable news network around viewer-wise.

Is there some unseen reason why they go for the "fair and balanced" tag when it's obvious to anyone who watches for even 5 minutes that they definitely do a conservative spin on everything?

13. They're not republican they're NeoCons
The real republicans aren't in Washington, they live in other parts of the country and are letting themselves be duped by these NeoCons.

to rub that kind of crap in the face of progressives... why? because they can get away with it. :grr:

If the 'news' media were actually required to tell the truth (which they are not) FAUX would not be able to do this.

4. They use the Jerry Springer mentality
Where you stir up the passions and prejudices of the insipid to make everyone tune in to see why.

5. They aren't for conservatives. They're for RW Reactionaries.
The current Repug party bears no relationship with the conservatives.
Instead of conserving, they want to loot the treasury and destroy everything that has been built up in the last 100 years.

9. That's the thing - even their viewers don't buy the F&B claim
Edited on Thu Oct-07-04 09:57 AM by Mike Daniels
No-one with just the reasoning ability of a gnat can believe you're really F&B when every criticism of Bush is called a "slam", your bottom screen captions read "Krazee Kerry" or "Liberal Loozers Lie of the Day", and 9 out of 10 guests in any given hour are Republican politicians, authors, or columnists. Hell, they even have taunts run across their message board during protests.

I don't know...My take would be to just be proud of who they are and just promote it as such. They aren't going to lose their audience.

10. True, their viewers know that their "fair and blanced" claim is a lie
But they don't care. They pretend that they are watching a legitimate news channel and not just pathetic propaganda. That way, they can keep convincing themselves that they are informed and aware.

Besides, some people believe that Fox is right wing and balanced at the same time. They know its all Conservative bullshit, but they think the rest of the media is liberal and therefore that it all just evens out.

Its quite pathetic. What we are observing in this country now is an almost breathtaking shift toward fascism and willful ignorance.

16. Because Orwellian Tyranny of the BushPutin variety requires endless
100% deception.

As to why their viewers can't see through the lies and Pravda, as to why Faux is now the "#1 Cable News Channel in Amerika" one only has to look at why the Germans did the same for THEIR Orwellian Tyrannical Rulers.

We now belong in the same family with the 1930s Germans. November will seal it, if BushPutin regains the throne.

We are them, they are us. Only a few cosmetic differences and the severity of the evil (for which we cannot fully compare Amerika in 1936 with nazi Germany after it had it's full course in 1945) remain.

17. Because Neocon's like to be stroked
My Republican boss said to me very recently "You know, we are the more inclusive party." :wtf: Really? Care to provide examples of this?

I think lots of people know it's a crock of shit but it helps ease their minds to believe it's FAIR AND BALANCED.
