5. On in Ohio
Very sad what happened with him. I think our country would be in a totally different situation had he and his brother not been murdered.

6. Thanks to your heads up, I'm watching it in Denvoid now.....
Even though that's my era, I'm learning something.

The part about Castro is really upsetting.

Jackie knew they were going to "do the same thing" to him as JFK, Jr.

9. Also watching in NC
Bobby said 11 weeks before Los Angeles, "if anyone wants to kill me it won't be difficult."

"When he shall die,
Take him and cut him out in little stars,
And he will make the face of heaven so fine
That all the world will be in love with night,
And pay no worship to the garish sun."

10. Very sad. Glad I watched, though.
It makes you wonder what could've been, and why they did it.

11. I SO hope younger Dems are watching this! Bobby saying "this isn't the
time"

As was said just now, he wanted black people to slow down, calm down, and accept change gradually.

It took violence against one of his aides for him to understand that change doesn't happen in an orderly fashion.

How many times have we kept hearing "This isn't the time"????

We, the people, have to keep pushing and pushing and pushing those in power, no matter how much we respect them, and like them, and support them. Our job is to PUSH!

14. Also the motto adopted by the candidate I worked for in the primary Senate
race, Mike Miles.

You may want to look at my sig. :)

Martin Luther King was soooo right........ the movement wasn't only about the rights of black people.. it was a movement to regain the soul of the nation.

"If not now, when?"

"If not me, who?"

15. ONe unnecessary sentence in the narration really ticked me OFF!
As said about Bobby's grief, and wearing his brother's jacket....

"...... cultivating his grief.."

Geeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeez, how COLD. When are we as a nation ever going to learn that grief is necessary, it's HUMAN, and experiencing it and going through it is not only part of life, but a necessity to growth??!!!!

As it turned out, experiencing his grief led him to a deeper compassion for others. Yet, he is criticised for that....??? What in the world are we about?

"The word 'compassion' means to 'feel with'. We are unable to feel with another, if we don't know how to feel our own emotions." Rev. Richard Rohr, S.J.

16. I agree...clearly the did not understand the words of the poet
that RFK quoted.

If we choose not to feel and not to learn from our experiences both happy and tragic we can not develop as human beings... and those who choose to ignore their feelings become cold, callous and republican.

21. And how many of us understand the truth of that??
What, maybe you and I?

Sorry, I'm just so discouraged about the state of our national soul, and that includes Dems, liberals, and progressives. I guess it's the grief that many before me have felt about the human race, but.......... it's just all so unnecesary.

Thanks so very much for voicing this, bleedingheart! Your name suits you well! ^_^
