Santa to become Danish citizen
Denmark wants to claim North Pole
Mon 4 October, 2004 18:16

COPENHAGEN (Reuters) - Denmark aims to claim the North Pole and hunt
for oil in high Arctic regions that may become more accessible because
of global warming, the Science Ministry says.
It said Denmark would send an expedition to try to prove the seabed
beneath the Pole was a natural continuation of Greenland, the world's
biggest island and a Danish territory whose northern tip is just 450
miles from the Pole.

Science Minister Helge Sander said last week success would give Denmark
access to "new resources such as oil and natural gas".

8. You shakespearean..
Something is rotten, based on my visit to christania earlier this
year. Denmark is suffering under its new nazi right.

I think their bored... The new danish right think they've perfected
utopia (which they clearly have not), but it allows them the
luxury to focus on foreign shores... sorta tony-blair like.

We'll see if it all washes in november when the hurly burlys done...
;-)

7. Jeg ved ikke--which is to say, Damned if I know--
things have mostly been pretty calm over there since all the hotheads got in their boats & left for places like England, Ireland & France a thousand years ago or so.
