Bush Twins and Kerry Kids
Bush said he appreciated "the fact that daughters have been so kind to my daughters," adding that "it's been hard" for the children of both candidates while their dads have been on the campaign trail.

Kerry told Bush he appreciated his comments about his family "enormously," and said he'd followed the progress of the Bush twins, Jenna and Barbara.

"I've chuckled a few times at some of their comments," Kerry said.

Bush laughed, saying, "I'm trying to put a leash on them."

Is this a Freudian slip up or are leashes a regular form of control in the Bush household? Maybe something like THIS would be appropriate for rabid Babs and Jenna...

6. I think Kerry was trying to be kind
regarding the twins introduction at the convention. I've also read a few of their comments at campaign events at college campuses. They pretty much stick to we're supporting our dad, and fluffy little talks. Let's just say that they don't handle policy questions.

I've seen video of both Vanessa and Chris Heinz at campus events. They field every type of question, and do a great job. Needless to say, all the Kerry/Heinz contributions to the convention were also great.

2. Kerry's response:
BUSH: I'm trying to put a leash on them.

(LAUGHTER)

KERRY: Well, I know. I've learned not to do that.

(LAUGHTER)

3. That was probably a republican poll tested response
bush's base would approve of such activity. Kerry was courting swing voters, bush was desperately trying to keep the lemmings in line. Both succeeded. We Win!

4. Last night on Real Time
Bill Maher said "Why did Bush make that reference to Abr Ghraib when he was talking about his daughters?" It was too funny.

8. The only moment * seemed human in all these years
He honestly said something that was kind of sad and honest, like a plea or something. I am probably mistaken.

9. Speaking of the kids, I got to take Edwards' kids around
...where I work, during the DNC--just the youngest two, Jack and Emma Claire. What a couple of charmers. Specially the daughter: engaged, interested, wanting to investigate everything (I work at the Aquarium here in Boston). I was half expecting 'em to be fidgety and cranky with all that was going on, but they were both very bright and well behaved. If the kids are any indication, the Edwards must be great parents.
