It's Better Fighting the Terrorists in Iraq Than Over Here.
Was watching C-Span the morning after the debunk - uh, I mean "debate."

A woman called in with a most excellent point. She said, "what kind of message does it send to Iraqis for the president to say it's better fighting the terrorists over there, than here in America"?

Aren't we telling the Iraqis that we destroyed their country, made them the focal point of terrorists, in other words, used the hell out of them and their country, so that our precious country wouldn't have to fight OUR enemy and disrupt OUR lives over here?

Are they supposed to jump on the bandwagon and agree with this tactic and love america and cooperate with us. Let their children get maimed and killed to make america safer?

I've always cringed when I hear the rightwing say this crap. But this woman really brought the point home with her statement.

1. So often, these statements that sound so good to the hometown crowd. . .
don't fare so well when heard with other people's sensibilities (e.g., Mark Twain's The War Prayer).

What I've told people is, maybe we would be better off fighting them here, since we're not doing so well over there.

2. Yea I agree......
The way to stop terrorism is to not give people reasons to hate. Something I think both politicians don't understand....

3. I was watching the Repug Convention
when that was brought up and I couldn't believe that comment. It's almost like England invading Scotland because the IRA set off bombs in London. It's not very logical and in all probability will come back to haunt us in a major way. Not that it's not already of course.
