The Bushies obviously thought this was Bush's strength, that they should focus on it, but it totally backfired. Forcing Bush to speak 40+ minutes on the same topic makes it painfully evident that he's only got about 10 minutes worth of soundbites to spout. He would stammer when he couldn't come up with any more.

He's also not used to being challenged on his judgment, thus his obvious annoyance at Kerry's accusations.
