Rove fired from Regan/Bush campaign for leaking to Novak
Edited on Wed Sep-29-04 10:26 PM by cease_fire
This is probably old news, but I just got done watching "Bush's Brain."

Quick Story - I'm fortunate enough to have a successful small business, and even though running it consumes 15 hours or so a day, I've been trying to drum up support for Kerry where it counts.

So, in addition to writing as many checks as the government and my bank account will allow, I've been trying to engage people that I have contact with every day, like my UPS dude.

He just hates Bush but can't bring himself to vote for Kerry.

This got me to thinking...

That's not a rational position. IF you hate a candidate, human nature would say that you'd do anything, even vote for the easter bunny, in order to remove that candidate.

What I've discovered is that undecideds don't hate Shrub, they just don't know the extent of his depravity - since our chicken shit media won't take on their bull shit.

So, I've been buying quantities of Political DVDs, like "The Truth about the War in Iraq", and "OutFoxed", and this latest "Bush's Brain".

It's been so busy at work that even though I got the case of DVDs a week ago I haven't watched this particular title until tonight.

You see, 3 days ago I gave it to our UPS dude. Today, during his daily pick up he said, "Hey, how do I register to vote?"

Our Operations Manager overheard him. She had one of our Customer Service Assistants stall him long enough so she could go to our .gov site and print out a voter registration form for him, put it in an envelope and throw a stamp on it.

I asked him why? He said "I just... I just can't. He's a (in a low voice) a complete fucker".

SO I decided to watch the DVD.

I'm sure that someone has already written a review, so I won't duplicate that here, but I did want to point out some very interesting moments in the film...

1. During the Texas Governor's race during the early 80's, the incumbent looked like a shoo-in, Karl, on the day of the debate, discovered an electronic listening device in his office.

Even though the transmission range was .5 miles and the battery life was less than 2 hours, Karl attributed the bugging to his political opposition. He whirled up a shit storm of media coverage and completely misdirected the public away from the issues that his candidate was failing on...

Sound familiar?

2.Karl subscribes, by his own admission, to a Napoleonic war strategy;
"There's no need to win if you can make your opponent lose"

Sound familiar?

3. As per my headline, in the Regan/Bush presidential campaign, Karl was fired from the campaign because he leaked information...

...to Robert Novak.

Sound Familiar?

And - where's our media? Where's our fourth estate?

I have a theory - presented by none other than Dark Helmet.

"Evil will always Triumph over Good because Good is Dumb."

Absolutely Prophetic.

1. Rove must love Novak. He's risked his job doing this again.
Oh, those Republican "girlie men!"

4. The problem with being basically good and honest.....
is that you expect others to be as honest or honorable as yourself and the sad truth you find is that very many are not. You have to be very careful where you place your trust throughout life.

6. Presuming that evil will always triumph over good,
and further presuming that one has to be very careful where to place one’s trust; with the given that schools punish evil with zero tolerance and teach children to do good: we can conclude that schools deliberately set children up for failure by teaching them the opposite of what they will need in life to succeed.
