Why the hell do I want to listen to a bunch of redneck, right-wingers all morning. It's not like I don't hear enough of them already.

4. I was a little upset

I understand that he wants to get people of opposing views, but I went to the last one that they had in Atlanta. If you had any Kerry stuff on or showed that you were a Democrat, it didn't matter what you had to say, they wouldn't put you on. I only wanted to try to counter some of the stupid stereotypes that you guys have already mentioned. This is the second one in a row from Georgia and not everyone in the South is a damn racist redneck that's voting for Bush because God told them to.

I actually had some policy questions, but I was told that it wouldn't get people riled up, so I couldn't get on. But they let the little twit who said he was a registered Dem from West Palm Beach, FL who was voting for Bush this time on.

I love Al but not this stupid segment nor with his Rush-head friend, Mark. I've had this revelation today and Al needs to have the same revelation. What you have to realize with these folks is that they truly and honestly believe what they hear from Faux News & Rushbaugh. They believe that what they hear on these programs is the TRUTH. And no amount of fact checks and rebutting is ever going to change their minds. They don't want to believe that their "idols" could lie to them, just as they don't want to believe that our side is telling the truth. And nothing we say or do, and nothing Al says or does is likely to change that with these type of folks. To change your mind, you've first have to have an open mind and these folks don't.

Have you noticed how often they just come right out and insult him? But he keeps on being nice and "reaching out" to them. I'm sorry, but right wing assholes are not interested in that. They WANT to hate us.

As I said, I like Al Franken alot, but he seems a few years behind the curve on alot of things. So often I'll hear some widely-known fact brought up, and he's unaware of it- even shocked by it.

And the whole "reach out and be friends" attitude has no place today. They hate us. They hate him. It comes through every time he courteously allows one of those brainwashed fuckwits airtime.
