Reporters kept in pens at Bush Co. rallys with help of Secret Service!
It's very difficult to ambush Bush
`Bush Bubble' keeps fans in line for hours
Campaign events strictly limited to loyal Republicans

On this morning, Bush's 37th campaign stop in the crucial battleground state, the Secret Service and local police huddle in the passageway joining a hotel and the convention centre, trying to get ground rules set.

"If someone gets up and shouts `Stop the War' move toward him," an agent says before he spots an interloper and lowers his voice.

Reporters are kept in a pen and if they wander to speak to those in attendance, they too, get a visit from the Secret Service and a reminder to return to the pen.

{snip}

The crowd of 2,000 is vanilla-white; the only minorities are the young African-American, Asian and Muslim students placed on stage behind Bush. He would later be photographed in many newspapers embracing the young black girls.

I knew they reacted swiftly, even violently, to any dissent among the audience but I didn't know they keep reporters penned up! No wonder you have to read about things like this in a non-US paper :(

2. Selection Bias
Bush wants people to believe he is addressing them he only address a certain crowd. Did you see the NYC protests. Flat out Bush is the most hated leader in the world...

3. this jackass never quits
I am disgusted by the bald faced lies this man continues to spew. I am ashamed that more people don't call him on it. I am so tired of ranting about this I want his ass out of the white house NOW. He has turned this country upside down and people continue to follow him with willful ignorance. I hate him, hate him, hate him--Sorry I am on the final rant of my day--I will get up tomorrow and start again. By the time midnight comes around I am worn out.

6. Yes why is it only a Canadian paper who has the guts to talk about this?
Are the papers so desperate to cover bush that they don't want to risk getting what little they can get from their pens? Is it their papers have probush owners and fear getting fired? This is like something out of a report on a communist or facist regime! Why is the media acting like sheep instead of doing actual reporters? This depressess the heck out of me when it does not scare the dickens out of me!

7. Not at Kerry`s stop in Orlando
The last time Kerry was here in Orlano, his rally gave away tickets to everyone. They weren`t given out at their headquarters and you didn`t have to produce a voters card to get tickets like you do at the chimp rallys.
