Jay Leno talks about the tragedy and comedy of politics
And TV news?

Leno: I watch MSNBC. I watch CNN. And I also go to Fox News to see what their take is. It’s fascinating that they can go a whole year without mentioning Osama bin Laden. You’re aware this is a Republican thing.

Do you think it’s weird that talk radio is all right all the time?

Leno: No, it’s not weird. Because liberal people don’t need to hear their view expressed over and over again. I think some people on the right need to hear this constant reinforcement, whereas I don’t find that necessary

Pretty interesting article/interview.

3. I hate that stupid arrogant Leno....
the man makes millions laughing at other's tragedies. Politically, I think Leno is covering his ass. His wife, Marvis, is a feminist activist and best friend to Hillary Clinton and Marlo Thomas (married to Phil Donahue).

Apparently he likes that fencepost up his ass, and somehow , word has gotten out that he "might be republican", so now he's forced to "say some liberal stuff", so he won't "offend" his "lefty-friends"..

Political humor by late-night schtick-sters might have been ok during the "Blue-Dress" era, but the stakes are much higher these days, Jay..

Real people are dying, our country is getting broker-by-the-minute, and the collective sense of humor is a bit out of kilter..

He is, no doubt, watching what's going on at CBS, and might just be ready to start emulating Steve Allen, and Mike Douglas pretty soon..

Political humor is edgy..Jay is not an egdy guy.. Letterman can get away with it..Jay doesn't have it.. He better stick to "JayWalking".. :eyes:

5. Jay Leno
was the first person I saw who called Bush out right in front of him. He did it with humor, but he was certainly calling Bush out. It was at one of those press diners. Anybody else watch that earlier this year? Leno really nailed Bush.

6. The Last Word On Jay Leno
Bill Hicks painted a rather hysterical image in which an interview with Joey Lawrence leads to Leno committing suicide on air by putting a gun in his mouth. His brain splatters all over the backdrop in the shape of an NBC peacock. "Because in the end, he's a company man all the way."

That, to me, is all that needs to be said. Leno is neither left nor right. He is NBC. He does what's required of him.
