what a real president could have done
Salon has an article today on the cost of war and what we could have spent our money on to really combat terrorism. They point to this list (see below) from the Center for American Progress. We're all so inundated with the horrible things that the Bush administration does, that we don't have much time or energy to reflect on what they fail to do. Take a moment.

1. Thank you! This is a great article!
I'm going to use some of the facts to compose a LTTE. It will start with Dim son's quote about fighting the war over there so we don't have to fight it over here & then show that we could have spent the money HERE to actually make ourselves safer instead of inflaming worldwide terrorist feelings of hatred toward the US.

2. What worries me... is that if the rest of the "civilized" world
gets pissed off enough... primarily Europe... and decides to put it on us economically.... we could see times like we've never seen. I mean.... what did we do when a country existed in which the people could not control the actions of their leaders? We took it out.

Now since we cannot control the actions of our misleaders... I feel that there is a chance that others may decide to limit their ability to wage war by economic means.

This country couldn't control the actions of its leaders.... nor the results of that fact.

3. Kick
This is an excellent article. Anger management skills are required to read it without lo... I think I'm going to e-mail this to a few of my Republican family members right now. Thanks!
