Bob Graham's book calls for bush's removal from office.
I just purchased the book tonight at a Barnes and Noble and took a quick look at it. Here's what he says in the Introduction:

"In sum, I will argue that the Bush administration's action and inaction--in protecting a foreign government which played a central role in the loss of nearly 3,000 lives; in failing to alert government agencies of known tactics of terrorists; in diverting the nation from the real war on terrorism in Afghanistan to a falsely justified war in Iraq; and in politicizing and falsifying intelligence in order to build support for that war, and then in covering up these and other actions--constitute an indictment of President Bush's leadership so serious that it warrants his removal from office."

In the Conclusion Graham lists 11 issues regarding terrorism and national security in which bush has ill-served the American people. The first two are:

• After he was briefed in August 2001 that al-Qaeda was making preparations consistent with hijackings, the President did not take executive action to alert the Federal Aviation Administration, the Department of Defense, or other agencies that might have used this information to harden commercial aviation against an attack.

• Throughout 2002, the President directed the FBI to restrain and obfuscate the investigation of the foreign government support that some and possibly all of the September 11 hijackers received.

After listing these 11 reasons, Graham says, "Any one of these things would warrant a leader's removal from office. Taken together, they are a searing indictment of a President who, despite lofty words to the contrary, has not been a leader, has not been honest, and has not made America safer."

The mainstream media cannot ignore these charges made by the leader of the Senate Intelligence Committee (can they?).

4. Kool Kitty's response was right on!
and I totally agree.
Some newspapers will pick it up and run with it and then maybe these damn networks will have to report it as well. I send each one an email every week to remind them.

Maybe I should have put the subject line in quotes.

On edit-Thanks, Carla. That's exactly what I meant, but I guess I didn't say it very well. ;-)

9. I believe B. Graham along with Buchannan was on Meet the Press
Yesterday and on re run late last night. He had his book with him.

Hopefully, someone will pick this up and run with it. Though, I agree that our media is in the pockets of big business and only does what it feels like doing or does what it's told to do.

Still, if persons keep urging stations to take a look at the details of his book, maybe, just maybe it will get MORE attention..

WTG BOB!!

10. Is anybody else
Really surprised that Bob for Godsakes Graham has turned out to be such a forthright critic? I always thought of him as one of those tiresome Nunn type Democrats we're stuck with all over the South. To have such a previously (I hate this term) moderate person come out like this would, you would think, make a big difference in this book's reception.

13. This shows the state of the 'free press' and democracy...
...when treasonous acts have to be exposed in a book instead of the Senate or the media.

- The American media works for those who want Bush* to stay in office. That's all you need to know to understand why you won't hear much about this.

18. Wrong question. Was he a DEM who got a blowjob & lied...?
Pugs, being already beatified for their public stance against gays, get a free pass & their antics are of no interest to the press.

19. Looking forward to reading ....
This is an analysis of 9/11 from someone who sat on an important Senate committee through at least two different administrations and was privy to a lot of classified foreign policy information.

Besides that, I hope this book will give us an inside look (or at least a clue) to what life has been like for Democratic senators during the Bush regime, both before and after 9/11. I've been wondering a lot about that, anthrax scares and all.

Bob Graham has been a good Senator, never made headlines like Byrd or Kennedy, so he is largely unknown outside his home state. His voting record is among the best. He was also a good governor of Florida before he became a senator.

24. Buy it
Amazon

If we were freepers, we'd make it #1.

But it's still at #28 today. How come? No wonder we can't get any attention.

The media will talk about it WHEN and IF we make this book a #1 bestseller.
