What's this stuff about Tweety getting tackled on the set of "Hardball?"

First I heard of it was tonight on the 4 oclock news. I thought it would be all over DU; anybody post about this and I missed it?

Apparently Chris MAtthews was tackled on the makeshift Hardball set outside the RNC by some crazy dude screaming about Abu Graib.

WTF? Did I miss the DU thread about this or something?

1. He wasn't tackled.

The dude came and started shouting "remember Abu Ghraib!". Then the dude was tackled by the security. I was right across the steet -- didn't see the incident (I saw it later on video somebody posted here on DU, you can search for it), but I saw a shitload of cops suddenly swarming the stage. I thought something really bad had happened.

4. Saw it.

As soon as it happened Tweety switched to the Convention floor. When it came back nothing was mentioned, like it never happened. It was real strange that it was totally ignored by the entire panel.

Not so strange to me. Did you expect that they would invite the guy to pull up a chair and air his grievances? I don't think his beef had anything to do with Matthews, just another strange passionate person looking to get his message out.

8. He's done it before

Hardball came to American University in February 2003... these four girls got up from the audience and started shouting "No Blood for Oil..." and Matthews gave them a few minutes to question Santorum. Unfortunately, they weren't the most well-spoken, so they weren't as effective as they could have been.

2. I saw it, but haven't seen any post on it

Some guy rushed the stage at about 7:38 Eastern Time, Fineman said something like "What going on", you see a couple of security guys, then Tweety, to his credit, quickly passes to someone on the convention floor. When they come back about fifteen minutes later, all you see if police officers around the set instead of the peaceful sign holders.

3. I saw him he had a black sandbag over his head and stromed the set yelling

"Abu Graibh Abu Grairbh!"

5. It was all over DU last night as it happened

Tweety never even mentioned the incident on his show last night. They cut to a reporter at Madison Square Garden, even though the "attack" was in full view. I haven't seen a definitive news report of the incident yet.
