the example you cited doesn't sound anti-Semitic. It sounds more like anti-Israel and anti-anybody-who-tries-to-influence-our-government-for-its-own-agenda.

Many confuse anti-Zionist statements with anti-Jew statements. There are some pretty serious, hardcore, religious Jews who believe that Zionism is unscriptural, and that it (zionism) is the perpetration of evil forces trying to subvert the true Jewish cause (which, best as I can figure, is to try and lead a godly life, have a little fun in life, love and be loved by family members and friends -- like everyone else).

"Before the formation of Israel" means "before the Holocaust" too. Perhaps that little unpleasantness had some influence on how secure Jews felt in host countries.
