4. This is why...................
he'll need every penny of that $200 million dollar warchest. I don't think that any ammount of money will be able to buy him re-election (oops, election). The smirking frat boy can go trim brush on the pig farm for many years to come. I'll bet that pig farm gets sold extremely fast after his defeat. It's a sham, just like everything else in his life. All form, no substance.

8. I wish money didnt talk,
but it carries alot of weight. If Bush has media support, a ton of money, and there is any positive swing in the economy/iraq/terror that they can spin, I think we still need to consider Bush a strong favorite.

5. Never trust a poll this far in advance of the election.
Not to rain on your parade or anything, but I do not trust the Bushistas. King Karl and his right-wing cabal will do anything to win this thing, and the lower their numbers in the polls, the lower they will stoop to win. I fully expect some sort of "October Surprise" between now and November 2004. Even if such a surprise is full of spin, the spineless national media will dutifully report it as fact.

Sorry to be so negative, but it IS Monday morning.

6. Point Taken
I agree, but your point is really not that the poll cannot be trusted, but that Bush can't.

10. Yeah, Russert is a Pubbie, but
he is a Media Whore first. So it will be interesting to see how long it takes before he jumps on the Dean bandwagon. It appears that Chris Matthews is getting ready to make the leap. He was really trashing Bush on his leadership last week - I guess he thinks we don't remember how he creamed in his pants over how great Bush looked in his flight suit on the deck of the Lincoln.

9. The difference this time......is that we're "onto" how they play the game!
Their dirty tricks, their stolen elections, their "events" designed to produce chaos and terror in America.

We are awake now. It's not going to be easy, but at least we know what we're up agains this time. Last time we we very naive..........

What worries me is that when the BFEE gets desperate, planes start dropping from the sky. Planes that carry Democratic candidates.

11. Bush is losing his luster
among the Republicans around here. I spoke with a cop in our town who says the department, once solidly Republican, has turned against Bush.

A few months ago, a police chief in a neighboring town said that his department, and indeed departments everywhere, were not getting the Homeland Security monies they'd been promised, and thus were not getting the anti-terrorism training they need. "The money is going overseas for this war," he said, "And once the initial conflict is over there will be even less money available." This was long before the Rudman Report on Homeland Security came out.

13. If these poll numbers were to hold.....
which they might, it could turn into a Democratic landslide. 44% in a presidential election does not bode well for the House candidates of the incumbent Party. I think we can be cautiously optimistic. Polls are not something we should put a lot of faith in, whether we are ahead or behind.

14. The more that the media reports on these poll numbers,
the better for us Dems, because the American people will see how fast he is falling and they will continue to abandon him in these polls.

Hey guys, don't forget the margin of error on this survey. It's possible there has been no change since the last survey. Until the numbers get really clear, I'm not convinced people have wised up.

18. As if the Repubs panicking in CA wasn't enough...
Now the RNC will be panicking also. In CA, they may have a reason to panic because they don't have time to play around. That election will be here shortly. However, with Bush's polls, they have a long tim to turn it around. But, it would not be surprising to see some panic from the WH also. These numbers do not look good for the Chimp.

20. it's the economy, stupid
or more precisely, the unemployment.

Q: what's the average "degree of separation" from unemployment? it must be less than 1. anyone who is lucky enough to still have a job, has a son or mother or friend who lost theirs. and things don't look like they're improving, despite all the "prosperity is just around the corner" wishful thinking from the fans of the trickle-down theory.

get rid of the idiot(s) who created this mess!
