Holiday in Cambodia

It is a twisted state of affairs that George W. Bush's most avid surrogates are trying to make this election turn on the question of whether Lieut. John Kerry was or was not in Cambodia on Christmas Eve 1968.

Having pretty much failed at their efforts to disprove the official U.S. Navy account of Kerry's valor in battle as skipper of a "Swift boat" patrolling the Mekong Delta, the veterans against Kerry have moved to discredit his more obscure claim—made a few times over the years, in interviews and Senate floor speeches—that, on Dec. 24, he took CIA or special ops forces across the border into Cambodia, even while Washington claimed no American troops were there.--more--

I remember him saying it really clearly--and back in the 1970's it was DEVASTATING to that evil old Nixon! It proved Nixon was a LIAR.

And that Christmas Eve in Cambodia was a seminal moment in John Kerry's life--like the turning point of everything for him. Back in the anti-war days--JK was so eloquent about this. Imagine having America's allies drunk and mistakenly shooting at you! Pretty intense! No wonder he became a great anti-war activist.

There is NO WAY he is a liar--if he says that he was there--then he was there--they are just smearing him. Of course there are no records--it was a SECRET mission.
