What if the '96 Clinton campaign had questioned Bob Dole's service record?
Imagine if, in 1996, either the Clinton campaign or a liberal front group started an ad campaign with a bunch of old veterans saying that Bob Dole's war wounds were a sham and that he was never exposed to hostile fire. Imagine the reaction from the Right if Bill Clinton, the draft dodger, refused to condemn the ads and their was a rather blurry line between the ad campaign and the Clinton/Gore '96 campaign.

How would the Right react? What would they say?

1. I'm sure the media wouldn't have been critical of Clinton- Bush gets the
same treatment as Clinton did or would have because our media is unbiased.

Our we are not controlled by the right wing GOP US Media - we just act that way.

2. C-SPAN
I remember during the 1996 campaign, Joe Conason was on WASHINGTON JOURNAL with some conservative pundit -- can't remember who -- and the subject came up about some comments Sid Blumenthal -- who was not yet part of the Clinton Administration -- had made about Bob Dole's military record which were very similar to what THE BOSTON GLOBE had said. Conason observed that Dole was a war hero who had been grievously wounded and that Democrats would be smart to leave it alone.
