Why not contact CNN, suggesting that they take a look at the New York Times article to see an example of what journalism is supposed to be, and informing them that thousands of viewers, now that there seems to be an alternative cable news source other than Fox, will be clicking their remotes to MSNBC for good.

Let's all kick this, and comply!

Just because we haven't yet seen CNN come into the light doesn't mean they don't know our anger is there. They do. It can't be ignored since Monday's "Project CNN" onslaught. Perhaps we need to launch a few more of those.

In fact, I saw, just last night/early this morning - a CNN anchor lady talking to a guest about the "Swift Boat Swifties" and he said he was BARRAGED by phone calls - his mail box was full - from angry people screaming at him for telling the truth (ie: exposing some of the "Swifties'" lies in their spots. I turned to my husband and said - AHA! That is a testament to the limbaugh/pox/rove/scaife machinery. They are able to stir up their schmuckheads to "storm the Bastille" against any and all truth-tellers, intimidating and browbeating them for following any other party line but theirs. Again and again I've seen this, where reporters said they got hate mail and angry phone calls GALORE, questioning their patriotism, slamming them as traitors and Saddam-lovers and Osama-lovers. The heat from that attack has an effect. GUARANTEED.

So what to do? COUNTERMEASURES, that's what.

If they can do it, WE MUST DO IT.

If theirs are the only voices being heard, WHAT THE HECK DO YOU EXPECT THE RESPONSE TO BE? To wise up and start catering to the people you NEVER HEAR FROM - and who, evidently, DON'T EVEN EXIST????

Well, we DO exist, and we better let 'em know how many of us there are, and how they are betraying HUGE NUMBERS OF US.

If they think we don't care... they won't either. ABSOLUTELY GUARANTEED. Take that to the bank.

WE HAVE TO FIGHT BACK. If we remain silent or apathetic or complacent or demoralized, THE BAD GUYS WIN. EVERY TIME. In fact they're counting on us to be cowed and silent. And when we are, we're playing straight into their hands.

Gotta speak up, folks!

18. Actually, I HAVE INDEED been doing that a lot more.

Hey, ibegurpard - first of all, this is a GREAT point you make. MSNBC DOES seem to be reporting a lot more responsibly lately. It should be noted and appreciated by all of us.

Second, I just called CNN. Veddy interesting. A) it took quite a while to connect, once I'd pressed 8 to bypass the recorded message. Then, B) when I finally got through to an operator, and mentioned the NYTimes article today, she immediately responded - "oh yes! I've heard all about it!" And I mentioned how often I scream at my TV during the increasingly rare times I tune into CNN - shrieking "WHOSE SIDE ARE YOU ON?!?!??!?!" I mentioned how biased Candy Crowley and Wolf Blitzer are, now shamefully bad their "journalism" has become, how their slant is SO clear and obvious, and how offensive that is. And I mentioned the unconscionable Paula Zahn and how I hoped they'd send her back to the Pox network - then, jokingly, I asked if I could personally help them do that, and that I'd be glad to take her back over there, myself." She laughed at this. I could hear her taking notes. I complained that I was watching CNN less and less, and found MSNBC a lot more reasonable and unbiased, and I also said I resented how they just REFUSED to give John Kerry a fair shake. Then, I complained that they don't ever clearly identify William Schneider as a right-wing affiliated pollster, since he's a senior fellow of the conservative think tank American Enterprise Institute. I said - AT LEAST, some truth in advertizing, PLEASE!!!! Or get a left-wing pollster in there ALSO, not just him alone.

The more they know WE know, the better, guys. First, they have to have this schmooshed into their faces. Over and over and over and over. They have to be MADE aware that we are onto them, and we see through them, and if indeed they're really trying not to have an agenda, they are FAILING MISERABLY. They're clearly shilling for the wrong-wing, and for the bush campaign, and for the republi-CONS, and it's just a little TOO obvious by now, and they are NOT giving the Kerry campaign OR the Democrats, OR liberals in general a fair shake. And it's noticed and VERY MUCH UNAPPRECIATED - because we're tuning away, to their competition more and more.

THEY NEED TO HEAR THIS OVER AND OVER AND OVER, GUYS!

I am sorry to shout. Please forgive me. But I CANNOT overstress how urgent this is! If we do it once and it doesn't seem to work, we can't give up and let it go at that. We have to do it AGAIN.

I mean, do you know a single kid who got potty-trained in ONE TRY? Neither of mine were that way, and they picked up lots of things quickly.
