The Bush Administration, a Negative Factor for Peace in the Middle East?
This is from my own Group, Anti-CNP

The authors of the unofficial Geneva Initiative for peace between
Israel and the Palestinians criticized the United States, with one of
the top Israeli initiators admitting he wanted the Democrats to win
November's US presidential race.

"I hope personally that there will be a new president in the United
States of America because that's the best interest of the state of
Israel," former Israeli Labour Party politician and parliament
speaker Avraham Burg said.

"I would like the Democrats to take over and a Democrat
administration to pick up at the point where (ex-president Bill)
Clinton left the region," he told journalists during a conference in
the Swiss village of Caux.

Burg and his Palestinian counterpart on the Geneva Initiative, former
information minister Yasser Abed Rabbo, called for a revival of US
political involvement in the Middle East conflict.

only serve to make things worse all over the world.
I am leary of Chimpies Fundy friends who want to tilt towards Israel because of screwey religious Revealations prophacies.
This applies to the Left-Behind author and his Tom Delay-ist supporters who are banking on the Rapture.

So, re: the Middle East - under the Chimp, we only serve to make things worse.

2. Yes, the GOP "supports" Israel

...because the Jews need to control certain patches of real estate for Jesus to come back. After that happens, they are cast into the lake of fire with the rest of the sinners, heathens, secular humanists, gays, fornicators, blasphemers, and porno renters.

last one in is a rotten liberal. You know, how goofy is this?
Do you honestly think Jesus would want anything to do with these GOP Fundie-bots?

I have this fantasy that if there really is an anti christ, it will come back disguised as christ. Maybe in a pied piper of Hamiin effect, he will lure them away.

Understand I am an agnostic. My stance is I don't know, THEY don't either.

4. Yes, but you know you don't know
so you know something they don't.

Aaaah! Strange Loop!

Anyway, yeah--- you didn't ask, but me? I vacillate and or cycle between...

Agnostic: Because anyone who pretends to know what the universe is about, much less put it into words, is kidding themselves.

Full-bore Atheist: Because in the western, linear, political sphere, sometimes there's really no choice. I don't know what exists, but I'm pretty sure I know what doesn't exist-- an invisible man in the clouds with an unhealthy obsession about the sex lives of hairless apes on a jerkwater planet in a nondescript spiral galaxy...

Taoist/Zen Buddhist: Because I think if anyone has a bead on what's really up, it's these folks.

Discordian/Worshipper of Eris: Because, man, anywhere you look, whaddaya see? Chaos.

Not that they're mutually exclusive. But if the Xtian fundies are right, Yea Verily I shall be cast into the lake of fire, especially because I'm obstensibly a Jew, too.

5. Raised a Methodist, down hill from there. married to a jew.
I have a huge debt of gratitude to Martin Luther for stating each person is his/ her own priest. You don't need anyone to intermediate between the diety and yourself.
In those moments when I vacillate between belief and skepticism I draw on his
philosophy with respect to organized religions. To my way of thinking, organized religeion = orgained crime.

Reading Bertrand Russel at 15 changed me for good. I never regretted that.

The thing that really fascinates me is how the Cult of Jesus and the obsession of Revealations seems more like a sect or cult within its self. If I understand my doctrine correctly, the Christ was PART of a trilogy. Not the whole enchilalda.

It just seems to juvinile to unquestioningly follow ANYTHING.

When i go to funeraly, especially Xtian ones, it seems like all that gets talked about is the Angel Food Cake we are being asked to believe in. Who is to say it is not just another myth? I'd prefer Gilgamesh.
