Reading for Your Thinking Conservative Friends: The Wars of the Bushes
Some of us do maintain friendships with conservative friends, even ones who are downright reactionary. Admittedly, in my case, we don't discuss politics. Sometimes, though, it's fun to rattle their cages.

There's a new book out by a Stephen Tanner titled The Wars of the Bushes. The author contrasts the war-making styles and aims of Bush the father and George Fili. I haven't given it a proper read yet, but it looks like the author is far less than impressed with the strategic war-making aims of the current tenant at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue and the current tenant's accomplishments.

I will admit that Tanner ain't a progressive in the DU sense. But he looks like a guy who thinks, and showing our more conservatively-bent friends that it isn't just us "liberals" who are worried about Bush could inspire at least the thinking conservatives to reconsider their support for Dubya, even if the lockstep ideologues want to continue marching off the edge of the abyss.
