If you're only performing the search by virtue of a person's race, you are almost certainly in violation of the Equal Protection Clause. Race-based classifications are held under strict scrutiny - in other words, they are presumed to be unconstitutional unless proven to be otherwise.

So, go ahead - prove how searching someone simply because of the color of their skin is somehow not a violation of the Equal Protection Clause.

racial profiling is ineffective. It would not have stopped say Richard Reed (the shoebomber) for example, who not only had a non Muslim name, but wasn't Arabic either. Another thing is not all Arabs are darker skinned (some look white), and not all Muslims are Arabic - not to mention that most Arabs and Muslims aren't terrorists in the first place.

Sure in some cases it might make some sense to focus more on younger men from Arab countries and less on say old Swedish grandmas, but in most cases it's just plain wrong to focus on people just because of their skin color.
