9. the guy is a long-haired vegan commie bastard!
great show. germond was amused by the stupidity of some callers & even brian lamb was snickering in the background quietly, because you could see germond look over and wink a time or two like "what the hell is this idiot talking about?"

7. Favorite writer (Harlan Ellison),
in the Prolegemenon to "The Essential Ellison": "....doltish acceptance of sophomoric beliefs (.....and the suggestion that George W. Bush is anything but an empty suit galvanically mobile via prayers from the Religious Right).
This was said in February of 2000.

8. I saw a little bit of Jack Germond on c-span this morning
and loved every minute of it..especially when he told this caller who was talkin' trash to him about..."you people"..I hate it when they start saying "you people" ..regarding Liberals don'cha know.

Jack told him that he as a reporter he got a chance to see all the people who are not allowed to share in our bounty.

This caller started off asking him what kind of house he lived in.

10. "You people" is like fingernails on a blackboard..... very paternalistic!
You got that one, too, eh? It gets me the same way when DUers start out, "People, " It's meant to establish a one-up-manship.

I squirmed when the caller asked about his house....... I was very surprised he answered that. I would have probably told him to sit and twirl. :) (hmmmmmm, does that date me? hehehe)

Makes me want to read his book...... or better yet, listen to a tape version.

Kanary
