This is TOO weird (Santorum strangeness)
I KNOW I saw a local Pittsburgh news station air a story yesterday- about how Sen. Sanatorium evidently failed to show up for Jury duty in Pittsburgh. The story was pretty involved, and was done by a local "investigative" news guy- complete with interviews and on scene reporting.

I KNOW I saw this at the dinner hour news program, but can't remember which of the three channels. SO, this morning, I checked the on line Post Gazette, two other regional papers (but not Scaife's), all three news channel websites and can find NOTHING.

I googled "Santorum jury duty", and got a bunch of citations about his wife suing a chiropractor and getting $ 350,000.00. (those !@#$%^&*() evil trial lawyers are at it again., but nothing recent.

I dogpiled an exact phrase search, and had a hoot when I read the citations. Here is the page...

<http://www.dogpile.com/info.dogpl/search/redir.htm?advanced=1&top=1&nde=1&qso=location&q_all=&q_phrase=santorum+jury+duty&q_any=&q_not=&qbool=&qafterm=01&qafterd=01&qaftery=1990&qbeforem=08&qbefored=12&qbeforey=2004&domaint=&familyfilter=0&lang=&dpcollation=0>

So...

1. Enjoy the Dogpile page, especially the question "did you mean "sanatorium jury duty"?"

2. Some Pittsburgh DUer or two. Please tell me I am not crazy. Did anyone else see this on the 11th?

1. I love the way Santorum's name has been Google-bombed
On Google. type in "Santorum" and hit "I'm feeling lucky". Dan Savage is The Man, I tell ya!

Can't help you with the jury duty thing, I'm afraid.

2. It finally showed up this morning...
in the Post Gazette as a "mix up"

Funny last line here... (directly pulled from postgazette.com a bit of Freudian slip?)

<snip>

"When he has been called or notified in the past, and if work conflicted, he sent letters requesting extensions or postponements. He's always responded," she said.

Common Pleas Court administrator Raymond Billotte said Santorum, like all prospective jurors who fail to respond to a summons, will be asked to explain in writing why he was absent.
