Alright, I'm compiling a short but comprehensive biography of Bush. Kind of a "Failing Upward, The George Bush Story."

Here's the deal: It will not be a polemic. It will not even contain much editorial. It's basically going to be a chronological record of the lowlights of his life, stated in a purely factual accounting.

"On this date this occurred, and here's the source that shows it."
"Then on this date this occurred, and here's the source that shows it."
"Then on this date this occurred, and here's the source that shows it."

etc...

I intend to make it as irrefutable and unspinnable as I possibly can. So what do I need? Source material. And not just any source material... rock solid, ironclad, primary source material. If it's second hand testimony it isn't going in. I don't want to leave any little uncorroborated details for Bush worshipers to fixate on, and I don't want them at any point to be able to dismiss anything that is related as "just an opinion". At least not without doing some truly spectacular and awe-inspiring spinning.

If I'm writing about Bush and Harken I ideally want to see statements direct from the SEC. Or Harken financial releases. Or, if the copies of the actual documents are unavailable, mainstream news reports of their contents. I stress mainstream. This little biography is intended for undecideds and I don't want ANY detail of it being suspect because it came from "Joe Scoop's Internet Newsletter", even if he is an unappreciated investigative genius who's never ever wrong. If someone wants to try to refute this account I want them to have to claim NBC, ABC and CNN all got it wrong and only Drudge knows what's really going on... because that might work with Bush's devoted fans but the moderates won't buy it. I want them to have to claim the SEC doesn't know what the SEC was doing, or that the Guard had no clue what Bush was actually doing while serving in the Guard (which is actually true enough... but hey)

So cough up people. I want your BEST, most SOLID source material on Bush. Right now I've got a load of national guard records I'm having a field day with, his SAT scores, his Yale transcript, but I need more.

If you've got press releases about Arbusto (Bush Exploration) going in the tank and getting bought out by Spectrum 7 let's see them. Same goes for Spectrum 7 getting bought out by Harken. Records of Spectrum 7 and Harken ownership's ties to the Bush Family. Details of the seller financed loan at Harken. Bush's insider trading investigation by the SEC and how he got off. Details of the deals Bush got during each buyout. His DUI arrest... I want to see a police report! When exactly did the military institute drug testing for physicals... preferably detailed in a military press release. You get the idea.

For official documents, the absolute best case is a link to the document(s) standing alone... that way people who go to check it out don't need to wade through an article to get to it. Just click, and there it is in lack and white. For example:

http://www.usatoday.com/news/bushdocs/4-Cover_illegible.pdf

Which is a goldmine.... pilot aptitude test scores, Bush's signed statement that he was signing up because he intended to make flying a lifetime pursuit, his admission of a disorderly conduct arrest at Yale...

Btw, if anyone has any solid source that shows that was for stealing a Christmas wreath from a hotel with a bunch of his drunken buddies that would be really nice... As it is the only source I have for that is a college newsletter which doesn't quite meet the standards I'm setting for stuff getting in to the story.

1. From the mouth of Karen Hughes....
http://www.usatoday.com/news/opinion/dui.htm

Hughes said Bush had no other arrests besides the drunken-driving case, and an incident in which he was cited for stealing a Christmas wreath as a Yale student. She said Bush was also involved in a fight for which he was asked to leave a college football game for disruptive behavior.
