I wish Ted Turner or someone would start a NEW news channel
i used to really love the original cable news network, founded by Ted turner. it seemed they actually were somewhat fair and balanced and somewhat journalistic in content. a good start anyway. but Ted moved on and fox and msnbc fell into competition and cnn tried to keep up with the ratings and finally gave into the rove propaganda machine utterly.

i wish we had a bold billionaire type who could create a REAL news channel with REAL journalists and REAL truth and REAL reporters and REAL questions for the president. and NO PARTISANSHIP for either side. and taking NO political stand, either way, 'similar' to what c-span has done.

nothing would be perfect of course, nothing ever is, but gee, wouldn't it be just swell to be able to watch the news and hear something that actually resembles objectivity and truth and use the gift of a free press for what it was actually designed for?

instead of what cnn has become lately. a total disgrace. i still watch it, against my better judgement. msnbc too, can't bear fox though, never could. but now, whatever they say on cnn, i can easily translate it using the 'exactly the opposite' formula.

2. He was on Rose recently
Doesn't look like he's made back his financial losses. But I bet he'd like to stick it in the right wing eye if he could.

3. Yeah, I'm still mad at Ted Turner.
:grr: If he still owned CNN.....things would be much different today. I had hope for Gore's network, but haven't heard anything about it lately. There has to be another Democratic billionaire out there who would love to own a network. I'm a little surprised that Soros hasn't done something in TVland.

4. I too wish someone had the guts and money....
to be truthful about the news. I know I'd watch it.

I remember watching news Huntley-Brinkley news as a small child with my Grand pa. Has news always been so partisan?

5. NWI
Last I read, Al Gore got NWI but don't expect it to become an Air America.
