Republicans Watered Down 1996 Clinton
10-16-01, Since all the republicans want to blame clinton for all the worlds problems these articles should open some eyes. I wonder why the mainstream media or O'Reilly or Rush or FOX news never mention these facts when they blame Clinton for everything ?

7-30-1996, WASHINGTON (CNN) -- President Clinton urged Congress Tuesday to act swiftly in developing anti-terrorism legislation before its August recess.

"We need to keep this country together right now. We need to focus on this terrorism issue," Clinton said during a White House news conference.

1. Because they might miss something really important
if they took their eyes off of his zipper and stopped wondering about what it looked like, where it had been and was it coming for them too.

2. Don't forget that when Clinton tried to get Congress to move on terror
the great Senator Orrin Hatch railed against the "phony threat" of terrorism.

And, Phil Gramm of Texas blocked efforts to disrupt terrorist financing - unknown at the time that this effort might have also hurt Enron.

3. I find it interesting and telling in that article...
...That when Clinton proposed expanding wiretap capabilities to track terrorists, Sen. Hatch thought it might be going too far. But now that it's part of Bush's patriot act, he probably has no problem with it.

I'm going to look up more info on this article to see what else Republicans thought was a waste of time when it came to terrorism. Thanks for the article!
