Edited on Mon Aug-09-04 12:02 AM by flush_bush
there are some low priced stemcell stocks right now. what do the DU stockmarket experts think about gambling with those? would the good news of a kerry victory lift the whole sector? will it see more bounces on his inauguration and upon lifting the ban of federal funding?

1. Biotechs aren't done going
down yet. Sector is getting hit big time, it would be hard for any one stock to ride against the trend. Wait.

6. can you break this down real simple for a beginner
Looking at their site. What do I want? What type of account?

How do I find stem cell research companies? Do I search on the site or somewhere else and then come back to the site with the name of the company?

8. Get a scottrade account
They are nice...$7.00 online commissions and you can also call a broker in your area. They have walk-in branches all across the country and I'm sure the people there will walk you through the process of placing orders.

10. Try googling
"stem cell research", "biotech companies". If you find company(s), go to Yahoo Finance and look for stock ticker for company(s), read up on the company or do research.

After that, its simple to put in a buy/ sell order for the stock from your brokerage account on line. Takes seconds for your trade to go through each time you put in an order. Dont forget to put in stops or limit sell orders after you buy, in case your stock begins to fall when you are on vacation!!1

You can open an account with as little as $1500, it takes a couple of weeks. There are many brokerage firms - Ameritrade, TD Waterhouse (I use TD Waterhouse), Scottrade, Charles Schwab, Fidelity though latter 2 charge more commissions per trade.

5. This is why Singapore I bet is hoping Bush gets re-elected
I read in article in this month's WIRED that Singapore is looking to become a biotechnology hotbed which will specialize in Stem Cell research.

They got AMAZING looking labs to be built and everything and are seeking to entice even Americans to come over and work for the govt there.

Personally being the patriot that I am, I would rather America be the leader in innovating such findings and cures that could be the result of such research.
