3. Now, I hate to drive up paranoia but...

think about it: there have been massive fires, more so than the usual number every year. This comes to Bush's advantage so that he can argue the need for the "need" to reduce the forests (which BTW favors some business buddies). There is a great suspicion of arson, given that one man was spotted with a gas can at the time they were going on and then disappeared.

Bush has shown quite a bit of contempt for the environment with his policies and he isn't very keen on California either. Even with a republican governor (who's tied to the Kennedys, BTW), California will likely go with Kerry on this election.

So, who's to say that Bush didn't didn't have something to do with those fires?
