Political skirmish at airport airline club --
Having traveled a distance to an airport for a flight yesterday, I checked in, went to an airline club to wait for my flight, and, news junkie that I am, headed for the TV room to check what was going on. The club had two adjacent TV rooms, both with TVs turned to CNN. I clicked off CNN forever on the last night of the Convention, but it would be okay as an away-from-home source for breaking news.

"Inside Politics" was on the screen. A woman in the room with me started disputing aloud everything that Donna Brazile ("for the left") was saying, and laughing derisively at her. I got up, saying nothing, and went to the other room. The next thing I heard was a loud static, as the woman attempted to change the TV channel in the other room, which only staff can do. A staff member came to help, and the channel was changed to Fox News, followed by the woman raising the volume to a high level, drowning out the TV in the next room.

I turned up the TV equally loud in my room. When other travelers entered the room, I lowered the volume to be polite. Meanwhile, a couple had joined the woman in the other room, and all three began making loud comments as Fox "reported the news." I could feel my blood beginning to boil, sending my pressure God knows how high. Finally, I gathered up my purse, carry-on bag, newspapers and magazines, and glass of white wine, and stormed out through the other TV room, saying loudly and angrily, "You know, it's hard for us to hear in there with you people in here blaring with Fox News!" I retreated to a quiet room, settled down -- and felt good.

1. Did they say anything?
I would have complained about it being turned to Faux. CNN is bad enough...I was forced to have to hear it in a doctor's waiting room on Monday.

2. I didn't give them time to say anything --
If I'd lingered in the room, I might have swung my purse at the woman, and ended up in custody instead of at my destination!

3. I think you showed tremendous restraint
But I guess the airport isn't really the best place to raise a commotion.
