I need your opinion on the following question
All
I need your opinion on the following question. Please be objective and open-minded in your opinion.

What would you think if you heard Bush speaking and did not know he was the pResident of the United States?

For the ladies, would you date a man who speaks as he does?

I was watching CNBC and the host (female) said that the "American public found it charming that he has trouble speaking". What is your opinion to this?

1. I think the host you referred to must have suffered trauma to the head
Edited on Tue Aug-03-04 06:45 PM by ibegurpard
during childhood.
As for Bush speaking, I would find him (as I find many politicians but MORE so in his case) to be insincere and trying to affect his persona with ulterior motives.
One of the few speakers, in my opinion, who has the gift of being able to get you to actually believe what he's saying (even though I think some of it is horseshit) is Bill Clinton

He is not a Texan. That is how phoney he is.

5. Charming my ass! He's an idiot!
If I were of a dating age and dating capability, I would never date anyone who can't even speak a complete sentence. Except the See Spot Run variety... I can't believe this country is so full of brilliant people and we have that joke in the most powerful position in the world! Shame on all of us if we let him stay. I want his entire entourage out of there--the sooner the better.

6. My honest opinion is that stupid, uninformed semi-literate rednecks
..actually somehow take comfort that someone like themselves actually made it into the White House.

And while that may sound facetious and even possibly elitist, all it takes is a trip to Freeperland or any other website with a large Busheep population - or listening to the callers on C-SPAN after any given political program - and you notice the prevalence of peepole who possiss verry littel comannd of thee englush langwage

7. Date him? You have got to be kidding!
If I were to run into joe citizen Shrub in a night club, and if he were to begin talking the way he talks in his speeches, I would immediately locate the bouncer or go to the bartender and ask that they try to get his car keys away from him and be sure a cab takes him home.

If he were to approach me, I would have to find the bouncer and advise him that a looney guy was bugging me.

Charming... drunkin frat boys during hell week with "pleeb" painted on their foreheads are more charming than the shrub!

8. The way he speaks to the public and the way he speaks to the ladies......
Are two entirely different things.

This stupid, idiotic character he is currently playing is part of the ruse.

Is Bush EVIL or is he INCOMPETENT?

Funny how the power elite have propagated this choice. Is Bush evil? Or is American foreign policy evil?

The answer lies in the dumb act the president is currently preforming.

If you believe you are watching the real George W Bush I suggest you look at him speak on his father behalf in the eighties and early nineties.

9. Pointless Question
Set aside all prejudice against Bush. Yeah, if you didn't know he was POTUS & heard him talking - you might think his gaffes were sort of cute. I mean, it's the stuff of all those romantic comedies right?

The key here - Dubya IS President, and I have higher standards of the person who has the codes to our nuclear missiles.

10. To uneducated people, seeing someone who is yet dumber is endearing.
He's like a 'cute puppy' to those folks and the perception that they're
"smarter" then he is gives them the warm fuzzies.

13. Ewwwwwww ...No
I like real men and bush is not a real man .
It's all show , I'm more attracted to people
like my husband Strong and Humble , ready to
come to the aid of people who need a strong guy .
But not in an arrogant kind of way . Arrogance
is a big turn off to me , I like confidence .

14. I would find it charming that

they let him out of the group home by himself for a little trip.

But I'd be concerned whether he could find his way back by himself.

15. *bush cannot make the subject and verb agree in number
He is unable to differentiate between plural and singular. This indicates a very low level of mental functioning.

17. Depends on WHERE I heard him
If he was just another guy at the bar, then yeah, I might at least try and pay attention to him before I beat him up in the alley for opening his stupid fucking mouth and insulting everyone.

If he was just another politician giving a speech (as he was in '96), I would listen to about five minutes worth before I asked myself: "Is this guy retarded?"

18. You have to be stupid to date stupid.
I mean come on. How can anybody sane think that this man is charming, and my goodness far from articulate and that smirk is enough to drive someone to the brink of suicide.
Just maybe after several, several drinks later he begins to look human. I know this is mean but heck that is exactly how I feel!!!
I really, really, feel sorry for Laura and the girls because they have to deal with this in real life every day. I'm sure with the Democratic convention and the great music and all the celebrities the girls would much rather like to be in our party.

19. I would think this guy is WEAK....not so much for his speech but
for his demeanor--his body language and WHAT he talks about.

Does anyone remember when he spoke at the podium to us the very first time? He looked like a deer caught in the headlights? Stiff and freaked out. Naw, he ain't charming. :puke:
