The cancellation of RNC would mean Bush* doesn't have to embarass himself.
Neither would they have to put conservative Republicans on television that may alienate swing voters from Bush* - originally they had scheduled all moderates for prime-time TV, and then, I guess after people complained, they replaced some speakers with more conservative ones.

I'm not one of the conspiracy theorists about the terror alert though...I'm just saying, now that it's on, if they wanted to make it work for them, they might think of this when considering whether or not to cancel it.

1. They'd look like chickensh*ts!
No way they'd cancel. After all the 'we're safer now from terra' rhetoric? No way.

2. it would give him longer to spend unlimited money
After Kerry has agreed to stick to the $75 million. Until whenever Bush accepts the nomination, presumably on November 1.

4. Not impossible, but difficult

it just pulled into its homeport after a 2 month shake out
cruise from Norfolk. Nancy was on hand for some sort of
ceremony. It will be in San Diego for at least 2 weeks.
I don't think it can make NY (I don't think it will fit through
the Panama canal) in just 2 or 3 weeks, but then, I could
be wrong.

BTW, my niece is on board.

5. to answer my own question, i guess not-
the fascist-of-the-seas just pulled into port in san diego a week or so ago:

...The carrier, with a crew of 36-hundred, left from Norfolk in May, making a trip around the tip of South America.

i'm guessing that it's too big for the panama canal- so if it were going to be in nyc for nazicon2004, it would basically need to be enroute by now.

ya gotta figure they've got something up their sleeves.

Edited on Mon Aug-02-04 03:33 AM by jayctravis
