Without all this hoopla and fear mongering? I think it was called quietly using intelligence and then using that to squash the plot before it become Code Level Elmo. No Press Conference, just go and do it.

I keep thinking the "terrorists" must laugh their asses off when this ass clown shows up on the screen; seeing how high they can make this puppet jump. These goons remind me of the awkward body builder...a guy who can lift 600 pounds but isn't coordinated enough to tie his shoes.

there are actually very specific things to look for, but they have yet to mention them.

Unexpected packages.

Edited on Sun Aug-01-04 01:15 PM by amandabeech
I used to work across from the site on Pennsylvania Ave., and I could walk to the White House with ease, that is when the weather wasn't tropical.

I don't know the location of the IMF or any other World Bank offices.

On edit:

The IMF and World Bank are hated througout the developing world, and for good reason. If al Quaeda attacks actually are being contemplated on these two institutions, it would undoubtedly raise AQ's standing with many, many people on this planet, and increase AQ's operational ability.

The same ones that tried hair remover on Fidel. The same ones who overlooked the Soviet Union's economic collapse. The same ones who assured us that a third world country with a wrecked military posed an "imminent threat". The same ones that engineered the coup in Chile.

They sure are worthy of our trust and respect.

I just wanted to thank CNN for showing the Tom Ridge press conference about the hightened terror alert. Had I not seen it, I might actually have taken this alert seriously, however, after watching it in its entirty it was clear this was nothing more than a political stump speech for his boss.

I'll rest easy, as with every previous terror alert, this is nothing more than yet another political move intended to scare the electorate into voting for Bush.
