In the poll conducted on Thursday and on Friday, Kerry received 49 percent of the vote to Bush's 42 percent and 3 percent for independent candidate Ralph Nader. In early July, Kerry led Bush 47 percent to 44 percent, with Nader at 3 percent.

7. Just saw another post on rasmussen poll
Shows Kerry up by 4.

http://www.rasmussenreports.com/

By the way, is rasmussen reliable? They have a cheesy site but they are the only polls I could find that are updated.

8. They show a pretty big bounce given that poll never moves much.

17. AND I think it's a three day rolling average.
A one-day move of four points represents a significant one-day number (as it relates to the day that dropped off).

But I wouldn't read too much in to that - they also showed a tightening race yesterday - which had to include SOME data from post-acceptance speech.

16. Not particularly
Their poll is conducted unlike the others. It's an automated calling system.

But it's not a bad measure of movement in the electorate - I just wouldn't trust the actual numbers. So we can say that things have moved (are moving) Kerry's way, but we can't say for certain that he was only a point or two up a coupe days ago.

From 2000, they also leaned more toward Bush than almost any other poll.

11. Yes, CNN....has moved to the dark side but...
the CNN poll is run by Gallop...has Gallop moved to the dark side? Maybe the poll is right on...maybe all of the smears against Kerry are working, including the silly $87 billion dollar Iraq bill that Kerry voted against after he voted for his own bill that would be paid by the wealthiest americans. Myabe Kerry is not defending himself as best as he could....just a thought.

10. Don't believe the hype: REMEMBER this poll from 2000?
CNN/Time poll: Bush holds edge
From Keating Holland/CNN

October 27, 2000
Web posted at: 8:36 p.m. EDT (0036 GMT)

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Republican presidential nominee George W. Bush holds a 49-to-43 percent edge over Democratic rival Al Gore in the latest CNN/Time poll, conducted Wednesday and Thursday...

The poll of 2,060 adult Americans, including 1,076 likely voters, has a margin of error of plus or minus three percentage points and is thus in essential agreement with a CNN/USA Today/Gallup tracking poll also released Friday. That poll gives Bush a 52 percent-39 percent edge over Gore. More important, both polls show the same snapshot of the current state of the presidential campaign: a solid advantage for Bush...
