That is all.

1. It's a waste of energy.

Hate him or keep your eye on what you want and realize that diverting attention to his noise only keeps us from our objective.

5. Well, you shouldn't hate him because there has been no
terrorist attack since the last one. He still has a job, so the economy is booming.... No wait, that's the sound of the bombing in Iraq.
He supports our troops by providing free transportation to their assigned work area.

See, there is lots not to hate about bu$h.

6. Nothing wrong with it
In fact, I'd go so far as to say it doesn't even need to be expressed--four years of shrub's administration makes it a fact like the sun coming up in the morning.

But you don't run a country on hate (unless you're GW Bush*) and Kerry/Edwards needs to be above the typical gut reaction.

7. I'm really not sure I hate HIM
I know that sounds weird, but I don't even KNOW him personally. I kinda have to know someone to decide whether I am going to feel intensely negative feelings about them.

Again, I know, weird.

What I DO hate is what he's done to this country, his decisions, his policies, what he stands for, the people around him and what they have done, etc.

I really really try not to hate anyone. bush comes the closest of anyone alive today (if Hitler were still alive, he'd come in at #1). I can't think of anyone alive now I have MORE intensely negative feelings about.

But if you hate him, I have NO problem in the world with it. Hate him all you want. I am trying to convince more people to feel strongly in the negative direction about the walking sac of pus.

14. You get more flies w/ honey
Right now, we need to attract more swing voters (not on DU, in person). They're generally not turned on by anti-Bush rhetoric, even if they're anti-Bush. We need to sell Kerry, not bash Bush, at least in public/in person.

Course, that's just my two cents. What the hell would I know?

18. Dont hate
Its beneath you.

Matthew 5:3-12
Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are they that mourn, for they shall be comforted.
Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.
Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled.
Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy.
Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the children of God.
Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely for my sake.
Rejoice and be exceeding glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.

Heres how I look at it: we are on the side of good. Other people who have stood with us (those "persecuted prophets") include Gandhi, Rev Martin Luther King Jr, John and Bobby Kennedy, John Lennon and so many more. We are struggling against those who would use fear, hatred, and above all ignorance to divide us. They do this to enrich themselves, satisfy ambition and rise above the rest of us. Examples: Hitler, Stalin, Mao, our current administration. We know whose side they are on...When we HATE them (as we all have) we become them. The Dalai Lama (one of "our" guys :) ) once said "When we have no compassion for those with no compasion, WE BECOME THE ONES WITH NO COMPASSION!" Dont hate.

22. Of course, it's OK for the Biblical God to hate.
Romans 9:13:
As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated. (ref: Malachi 1:3)

Psalms 11:5:
The LORD trieth the righteous: but the wicked and him that loveth violence his soul hateth.

There's more, of course.

19. If the dictionary definition is any guide...yeah, I hate him.
1 a : intense hostility and aversion usually deriving from fear, anger, or sense of injury b : extreme dislike or antipathy : LOATHING <had a great hate of hard work>
2 : an object of hatred <a generation whose finest hate had been big business -- F. L. Paxson>

20. Hate is not healthy for you...
It will give you cancer and other stress-related diseases. Hate what he stands for and dislike the man intensely but don't let the "hate" become obsessive to the point of affecting your health. He is an easy person to hate....:)

23. Its bringing you down to his level.
Hate hurts you more than it hurts those you hate.

Quite simply, to hate another is to hate yourself.

I hate no one.

Bush isn't worthy of my hate.

He's only worthy of my working to bring about his end as a viable political candidate.
