Please help Barney in the WH!!!

I am so upset about Barney!

He is so adorable and every time that I see his owner holding him in his left arm, and trying to salute with the right hand ,I die inside.

There continue to be pictures of Barney pleading to get a new owner. Barney's eyes say it all. He does not like his owner. He is the first 1st Dog in my memory that clearly doesn't like to be with his own family.

Why does * continue to hold him when he exits Air Force 1? Since * is not too steady on his feet, this is a big problem. The little sweet heart could fall all the way down the steps!

I can never forget that Tour of the WH with Pickles on TV. As Pickles was smiling and going from one room to the other, she said to the dogs,"come on ANIMALS,let's go to the next room."

I was so shocked! What owner calls their pets ANIMALS? What about their names??

I have contacted the ASPCA to let them know of this cruel treatment to an adorable animal.

Here is their website:

25. Exactly. I've never called a pet I've owned "animal"
Of course, one has to understand that Pickles is as heavily medicated as her husband.

Send "The Pet Cops" from Animal Channel over to bust their Imperial Asses!

4. Chimpy has to hold him because when he puts the dog down,
it runs away!

I am not kidding about this. I've seen it several times. And Barney hates to be on a leash. There are photos somewhere of Laura, literally pulling Barney across the lawn by the leash. He had his legs out stiff in protest as she pulled him across the grass.

44. That's actually kind of classic terrier behavior. Photo's still apt, tho'.
George looks like such a ninny. And why does he insist on dragging the poor little guy into military photo ops anyway? Leave him alone, for fuck's sake.

It was Laura on the other end of the leash, and Barn was doing the same thing as he is in your pic.

43. To be fair...
not that one has to,

but Barney's a Scottie, right? If they're anything like West Highland White Terriers, and I imagine they are, they are STUBBORN AS HELL. Many's the time we ended up simply picking up our pup and carrying her the rest of the way home because she decided the walk was done, sorry. And when you do try to pull them, they do just like that: passive resistance. Legs out like skiiers doing a snowplow.

not that that excuses Dubya dropping and otherwise mishandling the poor little dog, that fucktard.

16. what's wrong with calling them animals?
I call my cats a variety of things - including Animals (or Annie-mules), Bottomless Pits, Fuzzballs, Dimbulbs, Little Darlings and Fleabags - as well as their actual names, which they occasionally respond to.

I don't salute while carrying them, though: they wouldn't put up with such treatment anyway.

I think this is so important because it sends a strong message that if this is the way they treat their pets-what do they think of US.

Now that hampsters are in the news from the Kerry's we need to let people know the difference.

Their are millions of pet lovers out there.

ALL dogs hate being on leashes--they have to be TAUGHT otherwise, right? And remember the time Bush dropped him? I'd bet anything it was because Barney nipped him! They'd better take him to that guy "Uncle Matty" on PBS! I've seen him get a dog used to a leash within minutes!

17. In regard to the "animals" reference,
I have a friend who periodically gives his pets the "livestock lecture" to remind them whose boss. Goes like this:

Said pet sits at owner's feet. Owner makes eye contact and delivers following monologue: "You are the livestock. I am the human. The livestock does not climb on the furniture, pee on the carpet, or drag food all over the place. You will remember you are the livestock and I am the human."

This can go on for several minutes. He always loses.

"Please save me."

"PLEASE just leave me behind. If I don't get on the plane, he can't carry me off and DROP me on the cement...again."

"I'm in my happy place. Nothing can hurt me. I'm in my happy place."

know that the Bush Family not only tortures prisoners but Barney too!?

No, I think we should wait until we have gathered all of the Barney Photos and send them to the ASPCA.

Let me know what you think we should do? We have got to save this precious dog. He is probably burning up in Crawford Texas. Somehow, the Ranch does not seem the ideal location for Barney.

33. Poor Barney
I believe he holds him because Scottish Terriers are very headstrong and independent. The dog probably wants to escape! He can't be controlled because the master has to be more intelligent than the dog, and we all know that isn't happening! And I know of not one person that calls a family pet "animal".
