KATHARINE Q. SEELYE Ho'ing it up for the NYT
Let's see... In today's piece she manages to throw in a comment about Al Gore's er dismal campaign in 2000 without any mention of her hand in the worst media coverage for a candidate (Gore) in the history of politics. Here's a google of Bob Somerby's stories on the Ho, Seelye!
http://www.google.com/custom?q=KATHARINE+Q.+SEELYE&sa=Google+Search&cof=AH%3Acenter%3BAWFID%3Ac32a032061318778%3B&domains=dailyhowler.com&sitesearch=dailyhowler.com

She then says that Teresa Heinz had an "an undignified moment" moment when she told the reporter to "Shove it"... Does Ms. Seelye tell us who that reporter is? NO! Does she tell us that the reporter is Colin McNickle, the editorial page editor of the Scaife-owned Pittsburgh Tribune-Review? No! Does she tell us that he's been has been on a disgusting and dishonest rampage against the Heinz Endowments for nearly a year? No! She just injects her opinion that it was an "undignified moment". AND now she's trying to compare "Shove it" to Dick Cheneys "Fuck you"!

And then she closes her NYT piece with this comment.
<snip>
Unfortunately for the Dems, the Teresa tussle ate up more than half of CNN’s interview with Mrs. Clinton, when she might otherwise have been talking up John Kerry. <end snip>

Oh the Irony! So let me get this straight.... Teresa saying "Shove it" to a reporter who's been trashing her for the last year is more important to you and CNN than what Hillary has to say about John Kerry. Who's the Ho Kat? Who's the Ho!?

5. I love the passive voice
Let me paraphrase:

Unfortunately for the Dems, the CNN interviewer ate up more than half of CNNs interview with Mrs. Clinton over the Teresa tussle, when she might otherwise have been talking up John Kerry.

Sounds a bit different, doesn't it?

6. Have a look at James Wolcott's upcoming book, "Attack Poodles"
"Attack Poodles and Other Media Mutants" provides a field guide to all the insufferable suck-ups, blowhards, and garden-variety fools who populate pundit-land and the print media. Seelye gets the Wolcott treatment, and it's not tender, folks.
