what the hell? dems urging caution when speaking of bush? fuck that. dems warning us to be civil toward bush during the convention?
why? are they civil to us? or is it, 'sinking to their levelism?'

screw this civility noise. bashing bush's obvious bullshit is our right. fuck the bush's and fuck everything they do. bush is destroying the world, and we are asked to be civil? no way jose.

1. If the Dems don't bash Bush
then people will think they're "wusses".

I really hope the Dems bash Bush all the way back to Texas. That assclown deserves it. :grr:

2. They seem not to want something that can be defined as a hatefest
And they clearly don't want to be subject to the criticism that they've got nothing but Bush-bashing to offer. It could be that this administration is so hated by everyone who doesn't love it that the Bush bashing could get so out of hand that there eclipse anything else. I can really see that happening, because people are so angry. I think the subtext will still be there. I just saw a brief interview with Hillary on CNN. She got asked how she felt about Kerry winning in regard to her own presidential aspirations. She put that question in its place by making a positive endorsement of Kerry and then saying that this administration has been bad for this country and bad for the world. She said that she couldn't wait to get rid of them and she wished that the inauguration could be moved up a few months. That kind of thing should get the message across.

3. Bush bashing won't work in primetime
It'll be a huge turnoff to people watching if they see a bunch of bush bashing. Look what happened in 1992 at the republican convention. They bashed Clinton and Buchanan gave that hate filled speech and people were very turned off by it.

The Democrats need to focus on their positive agenda. The american people already know what Bush has done to this country. They need to hear what we're going to do to fix it and make it better.

4.  I used to think Reagun....
was the worst president we could ever have. Then came Dubya. I think we should refrain from bashing during the convention. Let Bush*s record speak for it self. Most people are not stupid. Some minds will never be changed. But you can bet your ass after John Kerry is elected people will know I'm still unhappy with * the worst president ever.

6. I think this 'no Bush bashing' has merit
Kerry's trying to take the high road, and I wish all candidates did this.

All of Bush's message is smear. He hasn't even officially rolled out an agenda yet! He mentions Kerry more in his ads than himself!

I salute Kerry for bringing his agenda to the table, and promoting that instead of just attacking his opponent eventually.

But he will have to acknowledge his opponent more in advertising. He just started doing that in radio ads on select Urban Contemporary stations, where he takes Bush to task about what he's doing (or not doing) for the African-American community. I heard the ad, and posted about it a couple days ago:

So he is not holding back on the Bush bashing. Sounds like he's merely testing the waters. I think it's a good strategy.

9. No matter what the Dems say or do
Edited on Mon Jul-26-04 07:11 AM by DoYouEverWonder
the talking airheads are going to call it a Hatefest anyway.

I think they should all go cheney themselves and get over it. It is time to look back at the last four years and to examine Bu$h's horrible record. If Bu$h wasn't doing such a suckass job, they wouldn't have to worry about the Dems making it an issue.

Sorry, folks games over. We are not going to be nice quiet little Dems anymore.

As for Kerry, he knowns that he should step back and take the high ground most of the time. Let everyone else point out the negatives, so that he can focus on the postives and the future.

10. I hope to see pleny about Bush's record out there...
...between now and the election, but it's important to get one other thing across at the convention and that's that the Democrats actively support Kerry because of his own qualities. I happen to think that's true and they do and he does have all the qualities needed to make a wonderful president and commander in chief and the latter is important to people right now. However, the big meme is that people are united against Bush rather than behind Kerry. I think that one thing the Democrats would like to bring out of this convention is that it's more than ABB, it's a pro-Kerry vote, too.

11. Kerry should keep out of it
and let his supporters do the mudwork. This allows him to stay clean from it, and focus on his message, while we keep the dirt focused sqarely on *.

12. Hey, Fucking Moderate Poser Democrats
Your "leadership" is self-proclaimed and neither acknowledged nor respected just because you have enough corporate dick in your mouth to pay the catering bill. So, instead of trying to set every agenda and speaking point for a party you mostly don't represent, why don't you guys shut the fuck up and sit down. We'll say whatever the fuck we want about Bush whenever we fucking please. Hell, we'll say whatever the fuck we want about you whenever the fuck we want, too.
