Got in a huge argument about Reagan and Clinton tonight

Of course, I won. Repukes as usual claiming the surplus Clinton enjoyed was because of Reaganomics. I'd love more proof to email my moron friend with tomorrow to prove him wrong.

as usual the repugs are ducking responsibility - although they are quick to take the credit

The basic argument is Clinton had nothing to do with the economy. The "boom" and "surplus" was due to repug leadership.

We currently have a repug in the white house, and a repug dominated congress -- so why do we have a sputtering economy and record deficits? by their logic - the economy should be booming, and we should have a surplus.

usually the logic i hear is that the problem with the economy is due to the past president... clinton.

the smarter ones will concede that it's due to a war budget (for the deficits anyways; furthermore some will say deficits aren't that bad of a thing & stimulate the economy heh). the smartest of them seem to concede that bush sucks but the war on terra is a necessary evil.
