IF A POLL IS 45%-45%, ITS REALLY 52%-48% KERRY..
BECAUSE AS THE CHALLENGER, HE CAN EXPECT AT LEAST 70% OF THE OTHER/UNDECIDED VOTE (INCLUDING NADER).

AND THAT 70% IS VERY CONSERVATIVE. EVEN REPUKES KNOW THIS.

BUSH IS IN DEEP-DEEP TROUBLE.

HE (ACTUALLY ROVE) WILL DO SOMETHING.

WHAT'S YOUR PLEASURE?

DIEBOLD.
TERRORIST ATTACK.
INVADE IRAN.
MARTIAL LAW.
CANCEL ELECTIONS.
OSAMA.

STILL WAITING FOR THAT FROG MARCH.
STILL WAITING FOR THOSE OTHER TANG RECORDS.

1. That's right
They can't use Diebold if they don't fix the polls.

2. I didn't know this--The "liberal" media is touting Bush's "lead"
more and more lately. Of course there's always the margins of error but most people don't know about that even. It will get worse as the election approaches.

3. It's all a facade
Notice how the press always refers to any lead they grudgingly admit Kerry has with qualifiers, but not with Bush.

Examples would be "Kerry holds slim lead..." versus "Bush leads Kerry" even though the cooked poll favoring Bush has him ahead by a narrower margin than the more accurate poll showing Kerry ahead.

Look, this is all a game. The polls have become marketing tools. No matter what, the media will make this a horse race for the sole purpose of selling the race to its viewers or readers. They have advertising time to sell, don't you know? And don't forget those political ads run by the candidates. Those are always accompanied by a big sack of cash, as media never runs that kind of ad on credit, or even a bank check.

4. I've been saying this for months
All Challengers, regardless of the outcome, receive between 60% and 80% of the undecideds.

If a voter hasn't committed to a sitting President after nearly four years of watching him, he or she is likely to vote for the challenger.

The low was just over 60% for McGovern in 1972. The high was nearly 80% for Reagan in 1980.

1948 doesn't count because polling was in its infancy, and therefore unreliable. In addition, it was a heated four man race, with Strom Thurmond the Dexicrat, Former VP Henry Wallace the Socialist, as well as Dewey and Truman.
