Wiley's Scatological Language Offends Them in Omaha

My local newspaper, the Omaha World Herald, decided to not run Non Sequitur in the evening edition of the paper. In the strip, Danae is waving a flag, calling it her "Critical Defense Shield"

She says that as long as she had it around she is shielded from criticism and makes anything she says right and anyone who disagrees, "evil poopy heads."

Her pet pony. Lucy replies that's the dumbest thing she's every heard, to which Danae replies, "America hater."

I asked the paper why they decided to not run the strip, even though they had run it in the Morning edition.

One of the news room editors replied -- lamely in my view -- that they have a policy against "potty mouth" langauge.

Ironic that Dick Cheney can use the "F" word on the floor of the Congress, but a cartoonist gets sensored for using "poopy."
