Kerrybots, Bush Enablers, and punching my own self in the face
Me = no real standing to make any comments along these lines. I threw more than my fair share of rhetorical haymakers during primary season, thus kaiboshing any attempt I might make towards seeking civility.

Unless, of course, I make a good argument. Here goes:

RESOLVED: Lots of people here are enthusiastic about Kerry and his campaign;

RESOLVED: Lots of people here are enthusiastic about beating Bush, and see Kerry as the vehicle for that defeat;

RESOLVED: Lots of people here do not like Kerry, and more than a few are still sporting bruises from the primaries;

RESOLVED: Everyone, in their own way, is right.

How about this?

RESOLVED: The best thing everyone curently involved in pro/anti-Kerry fights on the board right now can do is push away from the machine, get a drink or a sandwich or a massage or something, and come back tomorrow. Because...

RESOLVED: When you find yourself screaming and furious at someone who agrees with you on 97% of the issues, you might be either a zealot, or else you're simply spending too much time on DU.

There is a cure. The 'Off' switch. Dig it.

8. Is that sort of love that one has for a good cup of coffee,
or the sort of fingers-outstreched-and-creeping-forward type of love?

12. Defintely the fingers outstretched
and creeping forward type.

Hope Will isn't askeered by that.

Will. Mmmm.

34. Agreed.
It's getting way out of hand. Smack yourself in the face, get over it, or you're going to be the same way (hopefully) eight years from now. Let Kerry be the uniter, not the divider.

3. My favorite haymaker of yours: "Edwards wrote the Patriot Act."
Nonetheless, I love Kerry. I'm giving my all to Kerry. I don't blame Kerry for any of the dumb things his supporters say.

30. Speaking of Bush enablers, Will
What is going on with faith based (Falwell, Robertson) campaigning for bush and taking tax exemption? This should be a BIGGER issue to discuss.
Since you will be at the convention next week, talking to some of the Kerry/Edwards base (lawyers) about what can be done. In the 2000 election the bible belt of the south shamelessly promoted bush from the pulpit, on their marques, on the lawns with signs. This IS their base.

BTW, loved that speech.

39. But..I..can't..turn..it..off........
Noooooo! :hi: Will. I have resolved to help elect Kerry/Edwards. I may not be 100% with them but I am 100% against Bush*. After they are safely in and have begun to repair our country I will be there to remind them what this party is all about along with all of you if they start to slip. My guess is that they will not slip. Before the election I have resolved to not say anything that is not positive about them. This is Republican country and I have to maintain that they are the best, even if I disagree with some of what they say.

Have fun next week. If you see DK tell him that his supporters in Kansas are fashioning a progressive caucus. Just beginning but we should be up and running soon. In KANSAS! Yippee.
