There is so much to choose from when you want to pick out a single "outrageous act" by our president. I mean, some of them are as horrific as they come...the dead and wounded...the lying...the outing of a CIA agent...missed military obligations...attacking another country...alienating long time alies...mistreatment of military personnel...our economy, the rape of our freedoms...yes, the plans of mice and men...etc, etc....the list goes on and on.
However, for me, I have chosen what I believe is the most telling example of what kind of man our president really is. Some would say that it pales in comparison to the above list...However, for me, it is a clear indication of someone that really doesn't give a damn...
It was the Television and Radio Correspondence dinner a few months back. Remember? This is where our honorable leader decided to make fun of the fact that no WMD had been found.
He was presenting slides of himself (you know...funny slides of him doing mundane things). He was at the mike at the time making fun of himself (traditionally done at these dinners). One particular slide came up where he is shown looking under his desk. Bush captions the slide by saying "Where are those weapons of mass destruction?" "Not here." After a few more slides another one comes up where he is looking out the Oval Office window. "Nope, he says...no weapons out there."
The first thought that came to me was my concern for the families of the nearly 650 soldiers already killed in Iraq...and how they would feel about this so-called self-deprecating joke.
I was seething at the thought of this man's pompous and flippant attitude towards what was supposed to be the reason why we went into Iraq in the first place.
Out of all the crap that this man and his administration has laid upon us...for whatever reason, this "little" incident pissed me off beyond words.
I wish that M. Moore would include this event in the DVD version of F9/11.
I'm still so fucking pissed off at this man...I can't find the words to express it.
