1. I don't consider myself part of the "gay party". INCLUSIVE PARTY
is what the democratic party is (or at least should be).

4. Exactly. Kerry and Edwards may oppose gay marriage, BUT.
It's quite clear that they, and the Democratic Party, are for inclusiveness. Gay people should feel welcome in the Democratic Party.

6. RW wants people to believe democratic party is the 'gay' party
just like they painted it as hippies and anti-war and thus anti-American drug freaks in the 60s

and what was the slogan 9n 1928 with the Catholic Al Smith???? ....Rum, Romanism and Rebellion

3. Not necessarily gay...
but the party that accepts everyone. I don't mind standing next to anyone just as long as he or she is committed to ridding this country of *Bush

5. Most gays don't think the Log Cabins stand with us at all...
Every gay republican I have ever met has been purely selfish. They are fiscal republicans, and don't see the need to pay more taxes to help not only those in our society who are less fortunate, but our society as a whole (i.e. better schools, roads, cleaner forms of power, etc.). I don't see it as being entirely their fault. If you are raised by republican parents (yes, republicans have gay kids too!) you are likely not exposed to the more humanistic way of thinking.

9. I guess the thing is a great contrast,
after all the Repugs are VERY anti-gay. I know many gay people, and have never known one who supported the Repugs. ?Does anyone know how many log cabin repugs there are? I imagine that about 98-99 percent of gay people vote Democratic. And judging by the ones that I know, most are intelligent, educated, and they DO get out and vote. The repugs have only hurt themselves by not being inclusive....

8. Have the Democrats endorsed same-sex marriage?
I think not! The day they discover that GLBTs are entitled to the same rights and privileges as heteros, that's the day the Democrats can be called the gay party.
