Will Conservatives Sit Home Election Day?
Will Con servatives Sit Home Election Day 2004?
Some prominent conservatives say they are upset at the apparent exclusion of the champions of their favorite issues from the limelight of the Republican convention in favor of more moderate members of the party."I hate to say it, but the conservatives, for the most part, are not excited about re-electing the president," warned Paul Weyrich, the longtime Christian conservative organizer, in an e-mail newsletter on Friday. "If the president is embarrassed to be seen with conservatives at the convention, maybe conservatives will be embarrassed to be seen with the president on Election Day." "When the only Reagan Republican to enjoy a prominent supporting role at the party's convention is a Democrat, the G.O.P. has a serious identity problem," Kate O'Beirne, the Washington editor of the conservative National Review, wrote in a column posted on its Web site last Wednes day. NY Times, Social Conservatives Want More of Their Own to Speak at the G.O.P. Convention, 07-12-04)

Taken from a mailing list from interfaith alliance, a good group of folks.

2. Yes, they will
Why? History dictates that it's people with an axe to grind that get out and vote. That's us - not them.

3. OH PLEASE, let it be so!
I have been thinking a similar thing. The dedicated conservative doesn't like the shrub, and for sure doesn't like Kerry either. They view Nader as another version of a liberal, and the Green's etc. are just apesty thing to be ignored. They don't have another option, so what is their choice? Yes, I think they just might stay home!

5. Simple Answer -- YES
every indication shows the energy is on the Democrats' side. That's why the polls are misleading, because their indentification of "likely voters" doesn't take this into account.
