Drudge: George Bush depicted as Jesus in upcoming GQ
According to Drudge, George Bush* will be depicted as Jesus in an upcoming edition of GQ.

According to me, someone has lost their mind!

3.  I can't bring myself to click on Sludge
But if this depiction turns out to be the case, I hope any DUers who subscribe to GQ will promptly write to cancel their subscriptions and tell the editors why.

I can't think of anything more despicable than portraying the Sh*thead in Chief as Jesus Christ. The former is antithetical to everything the latter stood for.

To quote the character Frederick from Woody Allen's film "Hannah and Her Sisters":

"If Jesus Christ were alive today and could see what people are doing in his name...he'd never stop throwing up."

6. Bwahahahahahahaha
I fixed it so when my family tries to look at the Drudge Report, they get the Sludge Report instead.

I wonder how long it will take them to figure out this wasn't done by Internet hackers, but by someone a little closer to home. }(

11. Here's one from Dick Gregory.
If Jesus came back today we'd send him straight to the electric chair, and then everyone would be running around with little chairs around their necks.

4. GQ is a horrible mag anyway
I tried to read it once and found it to be boring garbage. I stick to Wired mostly as I find it the most interesting

7. Essay title: "George W's Personal Jesus"
which is, apparently, himself. It must be an article about megalomania.

8. It's a good look for him,
though the long hair might erode his support in the skinhead constituency.

14. We may be missing their point.
If there are saying that Bush sees himself as Jesus, it is not intended as an insult to Jesus, but to Bush.

16. I'll make a bet right now:
remember the Bush as Uncle Sam pic, with the rolled-up sleeves ready to kick some ass? This ended up on freeper pro-war signs everywhere

how long until this becomes the latest freeper craze?

20. that's my take on it
it's a parody of gwb's supposed religiousity (if that's a word).

it might even open some of the wingnut's eyes as to what a facade his whole christian experience is.

15. Remember those images
where the backdrops of a seal gave him a halo effect? They ran with those photos a couple of times. I'm at work so I can't get to them now, but I'm sure somebody knows what I'm talking about and perhaps would be kind enough to post them.

I think it would be good, though, if we did this. We would then have the opportunity to point out how different he is than Jesus and how he isn't really practicing Christianity -- well anything from the 2nd Testament anyway.
