Disgusting Nightline tonight about illegal alien crossings
Desperate people dying trying to cross in the desert. Millions and millions of our money spent in near vain attempts to close the border. And all along what we need to do is FINE the HELL out of the businesses that are hiring all these people. That will shut it RIGHT DOWN. We even had a pilot software project to check Social Security Numbers in real time at the worksite, but of course here in corporate controlled Amerikkka we cannot have anything that might interfere with investor profits. More corporate welfare. More wealthfare.....

And in the meantime, the bleeding continues: American wages are hurt by oversupply in the labor market.

Of course Tom Tancredo is on Nightline is mentioning the fact that the corporations are the ones who are behind it all, and also small businesses. And Bush is always glorifying small businesses, but small businesses are just as bad as Big Corps when it comes to exploitation.

And of course the racist, lily white Mexican ruling elite is still being propped up. We went to war with Iraq when we should have gone to war with the racist colonial govt of mexico. THey are the ones keeping the indians in poverty while the white descendants of the colonials get the vast majority of the fruits of the economy.

1. making usa companies pay living wages to usa workers would
change this. Rewarding companies for illegal behavior is wrong and what bush proposes.

NAfta allowing our products to go to mexico at lower cost than their own farmers can produce is WRONG. We subsidize our farmers and then keep artificially low prices on food and hurt other countries and cost jobs elsewhere...

as usual, business is winningt, the ceo's salaries are rising, the their tax cuts are coming fast and furious, and the 80-90% of the rest of the human population is in major trouble....

3. Who says they're desperate ...

Mexicans have learned from letters home that they journey is possible. Thousands make it each month. Some are turned back unharmed. Some of these folks have jobs in Mexico. But they'll make a much better living by sneaking into the US and using currency differences to finance their families back home.

I agree about the lilly white Mexican ruling elite. This is the source of the problem. And corporate America has been propping them up for WAAAYYY too long.

I respect Tom Tancredo because he's honest about the whole situation. Americans cannot bargain collectively for higher wages while the labor market is being flooded with low-cost exploitable replacements.

We have the right as a nation to admit who we like and deny those we want. People say that illegal immigrants commit no crime. In fact, their first act in the US was a crime. Subsequent acts of tax dodging and identity theft compound the problem.

I believe that Mexicans need to fight to liberalize their society. The US government needs to put PRESSURE on the Mexican government to make these changes. That way, the US middle class will no longer be Mexico's sole welfare program.
